In 1995, Bones cut his teeth by sitting in with the late Eddie Jackson and his group the Swingsters at gigs around Detroit’s east side. The following year, he helped found the Big Barn Combo, a rockabilly band that played all over the Midwest and northern Europe during its five-year run, and won a 2001 Detroit Music Award for their CD “Comin’ All The Way From Detroit City.” Then Bones fronted the Sun Dodgers, a drumless rockabilly trio that produced two albums and an EP, and also traveled across Europe.
